Church lady bullied by same-sex ‘marriage’ protesters

In The Militancy of Rabid Homosexuals on November 12, 2008 at 1:44 pm

An angry mob of homosexual activists in Southern California attacked an elderly bespectacled woman carrying a cross then shouted her down during a live TV interview as she tried to explain to a reporter her defense of the state’s new marriage amendment.

“WE SHOULD FIGHT! WE SHOULD FIGHT!” screams one protester as the woman, identified as Phyllis Burgess, stands calmly with a reporter waiting to be interviewed.

In the live interview by KPSP-TV in Palm Springs, another protester yells, “GET OUT OF HERE,” and the reporter tells her anchor team back at the station, “As you can see we are being attacked.”

The confrontation developed when homosexual activists gathered at the Palm Springs City Hall for a protest following voters’ approve by a margin of nearly 53 percent to 47 percent a state constitutional amendment that recognizes only a marriage between a man and a woman. The amendment specified that it is effective immediately. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, is encouraging an effort led by the ACLU to overturn the measure in court.

Prior to the aborted interview, KPSP captured footage of Burgess carrying a cross to portray her objection to homosexual marriage on biblical grounds.

Burgess barely had arrived when the cross was knocked from her hand then stomped on the ground.

About 10 minutes later, the on-scene reporter, Kimberly Cheng, tried repeatedly to complete her interview.

“She just wants to express her viewpoint, sir,” she tells a protester who was waving his arms in her face.

The video later was posted on the San Francisco State University College Republicans’ website.

Ryan Sorba, chairman of the college group, said the video “is astounding and chilling and speaks for itself.”

“The end of this video illustrates the fate of religious freedom and marriage should pro-sodomy activists ultimately legalize so-called same-sex marriage by way of activist California courts,” he wrote.

That’s where the anchor concludes the report with: “There’s a lot of anger and a lot of hate, quite honestly, on both sides.”

On the Republicans’ comment page, there was outrage.

“There is simply no explanation for this kind of intolerance. For a group of people who claim to be fighting to expand their rights, they sure are willing to strip conservatives of theirs.”

“Yeah, the 80 year old woman was full of HATE. you could tell.”

“The anchor said there was a lot of anger and hate on both sides – there was no anger and hate portrayed by the little old lady holding the cross. She reminds me of Ghandi. The anger and hate was all one sided. To defile a crucifix like that is a very grave evil indeed.”

“Man, this is unbelievable. I have never seen so much intolerance and hate in my life. Who is being silenced now. The news anchor obviously was not paying attention to what was going on, if he had the nerve to say there was hatred from both sides. … From what I saw, she was saying she loved the people, was praying, and had her belongings ripped from her and trampled on.”
Another forum contributor, however, asserted, “That lady had it comin.'”

Lesbians go wild in attack on Christian church

In The Militancy of Rabid Homosexuals on November 12, 2008 at 1:36 pm

Worshippers at a Bible-teaching church in Lansing, Mich., were stunned Sunday when members of a pro-homosexual, pro-anarchy organization named Bash Back interrupted their service to fling propaganda and condoms around the sanctuary, drape a profane banner from the balcony and feature two lesbians making out at the pulpit.

According to a blog posting by Nick De Leeuw on Right Michigan, the Bash Back organization orchestrated a protest in front of Mount Hope Church to draw the church’s security staff away from the sanctuary.

Then Bash Backers who had dressed up and mixed in with church worshippers took action.

According to De Leeuw, “Prayer had just finished when men and women stood up in pockets across the congregation, on the main floor and in the balcony.

“‘Jesus was gay,’ they shouted among other profanities and blasphemies as they rushed the stage. Some forced their way through rows of women and kids to try to hang a profane banner from the balcony while others began tossing fliers into the air. Two women made their way to the pulpit and began to kiss,” he wrote.

He cited the Bash Back organization’s own announcement of other items members brought into the church, including “a megaphone, noise makers, condoms, glitter by the bucket load, confetti, pink fabric. …”

According to the alternative Lansing City Pulse – which reported it was notified of the protest ahead of time and sent a reporter along instead of warning the church – the protesters also screamed at parishioners and pulled the church facility’s fire alarm. Printed material protesters distributed said, “We specialize in confronting homophobia, transphobia and every and all other forms of oppression.”

The report said Bash Back issued a statement today confirming it targeted Mount Hope, which has about 5,000 church participants, because it participates in “the repression of queers.”

On the newspaper’s forum page, a contributor commented, “Homosexuals and anarchists. A perfect combination of human beings with no hope, no morals, no future.”

Many demonstrators fled and the rest were quiet after sheriff’s officers were summoned.

“Mount Hope churchgoers were unclear as to what the purpose of the demonstration was,” said a statement from David Williams, a spokesman for the church.

“The leadership of Mount Hope Church does not attempt to identify the church as anti-homosexual, anti-choice, or right wing. The church does take the Bible at face value and believes what the Bible says to be the truth,” Williams’ statement continued.

“According to the Bible, Mount Hope Church believes homosexuality to be a sin, just as fornication, stealing, drunkenness, and lying are sins. No sin greater than the next. Mount Hope Church strives to follow Jesus’ example of loving the sinner but not the sin while helping people change their lives for God’s glory and their improved quality of life. Mount Hope Church also recognizes that to each person God grants freewill.”

The church then offered help for people “caught up in unwanted sexual sin, drug abuse, and many other areas.”

De Leeuw reported “the ‘open minded’ and ‘tolerant’ liberals ran down the aisles and across the pews, hoping against hope to catch a ‘right winger’ on tape daring to push back (none did).

“This is what we’re up against,” De Leeuw wrote. “Amidst worshiping congregants and following unifying prayers that our president-elect be granted wisdom as he prepares to lead our nation through difficult global, social and economic challenges, the Michigan left declared open war on peaceful churchgoers.

“Mount Hope, for the record, is an evangelical, Bible believing church whose members provide free 24-hour counseling, prayer lines, catastrophic care for families dealing with medical emergencies, support groups for men, women and children dealing with a wide variety of life’s troubles, crisis intervention, marriage ministries, regular, organized volunteer work in and around the city, missions in dozens of countries across the globe, a construction ministry that has built over 100 churches, schools, orphanages and other projects all over the world and an in-depth prison ministry that reaches out, touches and helps the men and women the rest of society fears the most. They also teach respect for all human life and the Biblical sanctity of marriage as an institution between one man and one woman,” De Leeuw wrote.

“The church’s response? After things settled down, the blasphemy ended, the lewd props removed and the families safe from fear of additional men and women running into and past them the pastor took the stage and led the congregation in one more prayer … not for retribution, or divine justice or a celestial comeuppance (that’s what I’d have prayed for) but instead that the troubled individuals who’d just defiled the Lord’s house, so full of anger and hate, would know Jesus’ love in their lives and God’s peace that exceeds human understanding,” De Leeuw wrote.

His blog attracted dozens of comments, including one that said it was just as well the protesters hadn’t picked his church.

“It was well within the church members’ rights to respond with non-lethal force to put an immediate end to this assault. It this happened in my house, I’d have every right to throw someone out a window or two.”

In a statement posted on the Internet, Bash Back confirmed its “operatives” were in the service, “stood up, declared themselves fags, and began screaming loudly. … Another group threw over a thousand fliers to the entire … congregation. The fire alarm was pulled. Queers began making out in front of the pastor. And within a matter of minutes, everyone had evaded the guards and made their escapes.”

The statement continued, “Let is be known: So long as bigots kill us in the streets, this pack of wolves will continue to BASH BACK!”

The report comes just a day after video documentation of pro-homosexual protesters in California challenging a 69-year-old woman to a fight because she was affirming the biblical perspective of homosexuality.

“This screaming and shouting, name-calling and pushing by homosexual activists is not unlike a small child throwing a fit because he doesn’t get his way,” said Randy Thomasson, chief of the Campaign for Children and Families, a leading California-based pro-family group. “The public is getting a clue that homosexual activists don’t like democracy and are willing to trample anyone and anything that gets in their way.”

California voters by nearly 53 percent to 47 percent last week adopted a state constitutional amendment limiting marriage to one man and one woman.

Learn about the intimidating tactics and brilliant marketing techniques being used by “gay rights” activists – read David Kupelian’s controversial blockbuster, “The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised as Freedom.”

Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan and co-author of the Marriage Protection Amendment approved by Michigan voters in 2004, condemned the homosexual activist group’s intimidation tactics.

“We will alert churches statewide of this now close-to-home threat of disruption of their members’ freedom to worship in peace and safety,” Glenn said, “but this is not the first time in history Christians have faced persecution or threats of reprisal for standing for their faith and values.”

He predicted Americans, “particularly people of strong religious faith, are not cowards” and would not “be bullied by emotional adolescents who disrespect private property, the rule of law, and anyone who dares hold opinions diverse from their own.”

“We will pray for and offer help to those who have gender identity and same-sex attraction disorders, but Americans will continue to reject their attempts to overturn the will of the people and impose their disorders on our children and society at large,” he said.

Glenn said AFA-Michigan will join the Catholic League in urging Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox to investigate the organized violation of the church’s private property rights and the group’s threat of future disruptions of worship services.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue today issued a statement condemning the group’s actions and accusing the news media of failing to report it with the same intensity they routinely do complaints by homosexual activist groups.

Georgia congressman warns of Obama dictatorship

In Warnings to America on November 11, 2008 at 2:32 pm

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship.

“It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he’s the one who proposed this national security force,” Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. “I’m just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism.”

Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

“That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did,” Broun said. “When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being Marxist.”

Obama’s comments about a national security force came during a speech in Colorado about building a new civil service corps. Among other things, he called for expanding the nation’s foreign service and doubling the size of the Peace Corps “to renew our diplomacy.”

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” Obama said in July. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Broun said he also believes Obama likely will move to ban gun ownership if he does build a national police force.

Obama has said he respects the Second Amendment right to bear arms and favors “common sense” gun laws. Gun rights advocates interpret that as meaning he’ll at least enact curbs on ownership of assault weapons and concealed weapons. As an Illinois state lawmaker, Obama supported a ban on semiautomatic weapons and tighter restrictions on firearms generally.

“We can’t be lulled into complacency,” Broun said. “You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I’m not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I’m saying is there is the potential.”

Obama’s transition office did not respond immediately to Broun’s remarks.

Here is one link I was able to find. Free online listening of old radio shows. A nice break from all the political madness we see coming our way. Sit back, listen and Enjoy!

Socialist Thieves Want Your Money!

In Socialism; Something that Pukes Me on November 10, 2008 at 2:48 pm

People, this should make your blood boil! Forgive me for what I’m about to say but, WHO the hell does this man think he is?!

Video at the bottom. Transcript here:

“In the past seven years we have had the highest corporate profit, the highest productivity. The American worker has produced more per person than anytime. But it hasn’t been shared. And that’s the problem. Because we have been guided by a Republican administration who believes in the simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitiled to keep it. And they have an entiphy towards a means to redrisbuting wealth. And they may be able to sustain that for a while but it doesn’t work in the long run.”

People, this is nothing more than government wanting to STEAL what you have rightfully worked and sweated your butt off for! The arrogance of this man to dare make light of what we believe, to call it a simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitled to keep it.

You are damn right we think we are entitled to keep it! We worked for it and it is ours! Who–the–hell do you think you are Jim Moran? To even question us who have supported the rest of the nation all these years? Who do you think you are? How DARE you to look at hard working people like this! How dare you!

He even admits the past seven years have been productive. So what is his frikkin problem?! Democrats can not stand success, people. They thrive off weaknesses and instabilities. THAT is what empowers them. They are leeches. Blood thirsty leeches who love to see your demise. Your demise makes them strong. Don’t you see it? If they can weaken everything and everybody around them, they are able to come into more power. That is socialism! Simple as that!

See how angry he is? Well, he is not the only one who is allowed to be angry. Understand? He is not the only one. This ought to make anyone who has scrimped and saved and made it on their own angry as hell. Because you see, this kind of ungodly government does not care if you work hard. Just as long as they can get their thieving paws on what is yours and give it to someone who did not support themselves. They do not care if you are putting yourself through college by working two jobs. They do not care if you are buying your own health care. They do not care if you are able to make your house payments. They simply do not care. They aim to make an example of you, get it? BECAUSE you have not needed them. They despise you. They despise your success and they aim to bring you down to the level they are the most influential. And that is at the bottom. RESIST THESE PEOPLE! RESIST!

Has this nation forgotten that our immigrants came here for the sole purpose of freedom? Have we forgotten one reason the immigrants came here was to get away from kings who thought they had the right to lord over people? Have these socialist pigs that sit in Washington forgotten that they work for us?! Whose backs was this great nation built upon? Decent hard working Americans built this nation. NOT politicians! And don’t you ever forget it! Who the hell is this Socialist pig and others like him, to tell us we are not entitled to keep what we worked for?! Who do they think they are?! Unbelievable! Their arrogance disgusts and pukens me.

Chuck Norris: Obama, now that you work for me …

In Truth Speakers on November 10, 2008 at 1:01 pm

Conservative Hippie>>>[Bold empasis mine.]

Dear President-elect Obama:

First, congratulations on your victory. The historical magnitude of your presidential win is nothing short of stupendous and a colossal fulfillment of the American dream (an achievement embedded long ago in the equality clauses of the Declaration of Independence). Your life has served and will serve as an example to countless millions, and I pray that you will live up to that honorable position and responsibility.

Now that Democrats have a virtual monopoly over our land, with control of the White House, both houses of Congress, a majority of gubernatorial positions, state legislatures, the courts, the news media, the unions and the entertainment and educational fields, it would be relatively easy for you to rule as king, casting liberal edicts in any direction. But now will come your biggest test: Will you be able to lead the other half of the country that doesn’t agree with your vision, views and policies?

It’s no big surprise that I don’t see politically eye-to-eye with you. Actually, I stand in stark opposition to most of your politics. Still, even in our differences, I realize that we must learn to work together if we are to see our country get back on track. After Election Day, I asked myself, despite the outcome, how can I work for our new president to help better America? Then the thought occurred to me, the first question that should be answered is: How will you work for me? After all, it is “We, the People” of the Constitution for whom you are employed, correct?

So I outlined a few ways you might begin to gain the respect of those who oppose you and show that your campaign pledges to bridge the divides were not empty promises to get you into office. And these requests I make are based upon the inaugural oath you will make on Jan. 20, “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” No doubt these won’t be my only suggestions through the years, but they serve as a good beginning:

1. Use and cite the Constitution. If that constitutional oath (“preserve, protect and defend”) is the central duty of your job description, then I would assume we will be hearing often from you about exactly how you are doing just that. There is no replacement for strict adherence, application and defense of the Constitution. And it’s high time that presidents quit tritely reciting the presidential oath only to abandon its tenets when they enter the Oval Office. You should be publicly quoting from the Constitution as often as a preacher quotes the Bible to his congregation – at least weekly. If you take this oath and challenge seriously, you will limit the powers of federal government, reduce taxes (for everyone), encourage the freedom of religion and expression (even in the public square) and stand up for such things as our right to bear arms. The American public and the government has lost its grip on the content and role of the Constitution, and, if you daily choose, you can help to reeducate and model its usage for them.

2. Protect American life. Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1809, “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” Those are powerful and enlightening words – “first and only legitimate object of good government.” Of course, such a role was created and secured in the very fabric of our nation – in the Declaration of Independence. The commitment to protect life should serve as a basis to all you do, even as a foundation for your national defense strategy or to protect human life from the womb to the grave. I’m sure the first of your secret briefings this last week on our global security threats have opened your eyes some to the extensive onslaught of our enemies. Don’t allow your pride, partisanship, personal bias or political abilities to ever jeopardize the safety of Americans lives. As commander in chief, you are called to preserve American life. Quite frankly, that is why I’m surprised that a man like you, who professes to fight for minorities, would not recognize the clear value of a human life in the womb. Federal law should not edict the sacrifice of one human life for the preference of another. Both lives should be protected. Otherwise what do Jefferson’s 1809 words mean? As president, you are called to protect (not destroy) human life – it is the “first and only legitimate object of good government.
3. Learn from the mistakes of your Democratic predecessors. I’m referring specifically to presidents Carter and Clinton. Despite how many trumpet their accomplishments today, they learned big lessons at our expense about international diplomacy and economic recovery. Carter’s diplomatic naïveté, combined with his overly altruistic belief that America’s enemies can be won by a smile and handshake, ultimately gave rise to Ahmadinejad’s Iranian regime. Furthermore, Carter’s handling of our economic affairs also led to the highest interest, inflation and unemployment rates in history. You were only a young man, I realize, but I respectfully wonder if you know of those lessons, or might be doomed to repeat them? You can increase the taxes of individuals who make more than $200,000. You can impose the same on companies and corporations. But don’t believe for a minute that they aren’t even now making plans and moving their monies into overseas accounts. Any businessman knows that such tax increases will trickle down to employees, shareholders, consumers or further tempt them to take their productivity abroad where costs are lower. And what will be the effect on our economy? Isn’t it obvious? And don’t forget this: Bush is only partially to blame for our economic woes. Remember, it was the Clinton administration in 1999 that was the primary contributor to our Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae subprime fiasco (and subsequent Wall Street bailout need), by extending billions of mortgage loans to those who wouldn’t or couldn’t ever pay them back. Though gloating over his end-term budget surplus, Clinton paved the path through his government backing of millions of toxic mortgages to low income households – all of which would turn into gargantuan balloon payments years down the road that would bankrupt corporations and lead to our economic recession.

4. Lead more from the center. It’s been pointed out by countless pundits. Your track record is clear. You have one of the most liberal records in the Senate. You’ve had the liberty of voting and fighting for an agenda “from the left,” as you’ve tried to persuade state and congressional constituents to do the same. But if you continue to lead our country down a more liberal road, you will follow the peril of Clinton as well. He stepped into office and initially tried to lift the ban on gays in the military and extend abortion rights, only to prompt the creation of a more-balanced and strong Republican Congress in the 1990s. Don’t underestimate the resurrecting power of the conservative voice. You observed in Tuesday’s election how three states across this union voted to protect marriage in their constitutions (the 28th, 29th and 30th states to do so – California, Arizona and Florida). We will be watching how you lead Pelosi and Reid. We will be observing those you select as candidates for Supreme Court justices. The election is over. No more promises. No more words. You might work well in a team, but this time you don’t have congressional members to hide behind. You’re on your own – leading the pack – and the whole country is watching. Especially me. So make sure you lead more from the center.

There is one thing I will be specifically doing for you, as you carry the weight to lead our nation. I will be praying for you. As the scripture says, “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” You have my word – I’ll be praying.

One of your 300 million bosses,

Chuck Norris

Marxist tsunami won’t douse liberty

In Things I Agree with in the Political Arena on November 10, 2008 at 1:16 am

By: Henry Lamb

It is not just a victory for the Democrats; it is a Marxist tsunami. The principles that have guided President-elect Obama to this point are deeply rooted in Marxist philosophy. He is now in the position to infuse government with this philosophy through his appointments and legislative agenda. Democrats Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Frank and others with recognizable names are only the face of what’s in store. Behind this face is a force teaming with the power to obliterate the U.S. Constitution and the machinery of self-governance it created.

The God to whom our founders prayed for guidance has been thrown overboard by the modern Democrat Party. For at least a generation, Karl Marx has provided both inspiration and guidance to the people who are now in control of America. Republicans have not just been out-maneuvered and out-campaigned; some Republicans have been willing participants, joining the Democrats in the worship of Marxist ideals.

This Democrat tsunami is not only a defeat of Republicans; it is a defeat of freedom.

Freedom, as defined in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, cannot exist when government ignores the limitations placed upon it by the Constitution. Government, led by both Democrats and Republicans, started ignoring these limitations long ago and has now grown into a people-management machine that would make Karl Marx proud.

This transformation has been possible only because the people have allowed it. Now, a majority of people expect it, and even demand it. When this tsunami settles across the land, the federal government will truly be the people-management authority of the United States. And what’s worse, Democrats are likely to welcome the global central bank to be discussed at a global economic summit this month, which would transform the United States into an administrative unit of the global people-management authority – the United Nations.

Those people who have been called to carry the torch of freedom will not jump ship and move to another country, or throw in the towel and shrink into the shadows. Freedom lovers will survey the losses, inventory the resources, build a new strategy – and go to work.

The losses are not limited to the White House and Congress. Freedom has been defeated in the schoolhouse, as well as in the courthouse. To be successful, a new strategy must recognize this reality and design ways to retake these foundational institutions.

Try as it may, the Marxist tsunami cannot extinguish the flame of freedom. Freedom lovers are not without resources. In every state and every community there are people who still believe in the principles of freedom set forth in the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution. These people, and their faith, are a powerful resource against which even the gates of hell cannot prevail.

It took the advocates of Marxist theory several generations to convince people that government should manage all human affairs. It will take time for the advocates of freedom to convince a new generation that individual freedom spawns free enterprise that produces prosperity and a far better way to live than can be realized under a Marxist people-management regime.

The Russian people welcomed the Marxist tsunami early in the 20th century. By the end of the century, they were crushed by it. Americans who refuse to recognize that the current ascendancy of the Democrats is a Marxist tsunami will be swept up and eventually crushed by it, whether they recognize it or not.

Those who are called to carry the torch of freedom into the 21st century will find one another and begin anew to free the nation from this latest threat of tyranny. Ironically, this new strategy will include many of the tactics used to build the Marxist tsunami. For example, community organizing is a tool widely used by those who teach and advance Marxist ideas. This tool works equally well for freedom lovers. Already, in communities across the country, small organizations are working to teach the principles of freedom and how they can be incorporated into local ordinances and state law. Already, there are organizations working to get the principles of freedom restored to the institutions of education and returned to the textbooks used at every grade level.

Those who are called to carry the torch of freedom will find these organizations, get involved and go to work. Success will come, and freedom will be restored only when everyone who enjoys the fruits of freedom shares the burden of defending it. The champions of this Marxist tsunami will dance and drink and celebrate their great victory, ignorant of the giant they have awakened.

From every corner of the country, regular Americans are feeling the call and rising to find fellow patriots who are not about to let freedom die. The pending tsunami may damage the pillars of liberty, but it cannot quench freedom’s torch. Together, in a thousand ways, in ten thousand communities, the flame of freedom raised by each individual will light the way and chart the course to reclaim the schoolhouse, the courthouse, the White House, Congress and the future.

I’m changing as fast as I can!

In Socialism; Something that Pukes Me, Warnings to America on November 9, 2008 at 7:18 pm

By: Patrice Lewis

Well, on the bright side, there were no riots in the streets following Tuesday’s election. This is good.

On the other hand, Obama got elected president. We also have a Democrat majority in the Senate. Therefore, we must prepare to “change.” This is bad.

I truly believe we are heading into one of the most divisive times in our nation’s history, and it won’t have anything to do with skin color. (How tired I am of hearing that argument.) It will have everything to do with socialism vs. free-market economics. Dependence vs. independence.

During a recent history lesson with my homeschooled daughters, we discussed some of the highlights of ancient Greek civilization and its contributions to our current culture. I told the girls about Hippocrates and the Hippocratic oath, a portion of which can be summed up as “First, do no harm.”

Maybe this could apply to the Obama administration. First, do not harm us.

Unfortunately, new presidents merely take an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and we all know how well that oath is fulfilled. So a plea to “do no harm” will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears.

By implication, we can assume that the “changes” that will be forced upon us in the next four years will harm us. More than ever before, now is the time to cultivate personal independence – or as much as you can in our fettered condition. The less you need the government, the more you weaken it. The more dependent you are on government, the more power it has.

It was Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas (1939-1975) who said, “The right to be left alone is indeed the beginning of all freedom.” Keep that in mind as you consider the following suggestions.

Prepare to hunker down. Interpret this as you will.

If you have any, hide your money – otherwise it will be spread around. The best way to spread your own wealth on your own terms is to hire people to work for you. But of course, you knew that already.

Take your kids out of public school. Schools are going to become nothing but Marxist pressure cookers. They’re already socialist indoctrination centers. Have you any idea what they’re teaching in kindergarten these days, much less high school? Better find out.

If you’re Joe the Plumber, hide. Quickly. Otherwise your life for the next four years will be a living hell. Obama supporters have demonstrated they like to retaliate, so you’re not safe.

Buy guns and ammunition. Especially ammunition. The tools necessary for self-defense and to keep our government under at least a modicum of control are going to quickly become unavailable. Perhaps not banned outright – that would cause riots – but the taxes on these tools of self-reliance will be raised so high that the effect will be the same.

Don’t surrender to guilt. Opposing the new world order coming your way is not selfish. The “best interests of all” are code words for state slavery. “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs” is the death of liberty and the definition of Marxism. Duh.

Stockpile some resources, because it’s only a matter of time before our terrorist enemies (who are delighted with the outcome of the election) will launch something nasty our way. Terrorists love weak or untried rulers because they prefer to strike vulnerable targets. We just bared our throats.

Move. Whatever your political affiliation, it’s always best to live in a place with like-minded people. (Idaho might be worth considering.) Just make sure the place you move to has people whose concepts of liberty agree with yours.

Start looking for other news sources, because it’s very likely that your favorite conservative radio talk-show host will go out of business once the (ahem) “Fairness” Doctrine gets re-implemented.

Buy light bulbs. There is no possible way our new green president will lift the absurd imminent ban on incandescent light bulbs. Unless you want your home to look like the inside of a train station lavatory in 2012, you’d better stock up on incandescents while you can. (Obviously lights bulbs are a metaphor for all the “for your own good” changes that will be shoved upon us.)

Go to church. All the morals and values that we once cherished in this country – traditional marriage, sanctity of life, family values – are going to become so condemned that churches will be our only sanctuaries.

Conservative Hippie>>>[Even here be cautious on where you go to church. Such devotion of Obama will be on the rise that you will not know who your true friends are.]

Strengthen your family, your community, your state. Obama has said that an economy is built from the bottom up. In that he is entirely wrong (poor people don’t hire – only rich people do that). But liberty most certainly IS built from the bottom up. Start by strengthening yourself. Next, your family. Support your neighbors. Build your community. Get involved with your state. The days of sitting on your hands must be over.

Find another job. Or preferably, several. Don’t give up your current job, of course, but as the economy continues to nosedive, it is best to cultivate your marketable skills and diversify your income sources. The more income irons you have in the fire, the better.

Never never never never trust that the upcoming administration will do anything in your best interest. If the government offers you something that seems too good to be true, assume that it is. Education, medical care, housing and other benefits are never free – they cost something down the line. And the cost is always freedom. Take warning.
Obviously this list barely scratches the surface. If you use your head, you can think of many more. But better hurry up. Change is coming, like it or not.

But the thing about “change” is that it can work both ways. The ordinary Joe Plumbers of this country can change, too – and it may not be in the direction the government will like.

Tough patooties.

Web faux pas: Plan leaked for ‘civilian security force’?
Before blogs caught it, Obama site told of requiring students to serve

Excerpts from article gotten here:

(Emphasis are mine)

The official website of President-Elect Barack Obama,, originally announced that Obama would “require” all middle school through college students to participate in community service programs; but after a flurry of blogs protested children being drafted into Obama’s proposed youth corps, the website’s wording was softened.

Conservative Hippie>>>[They can soften it all they want. But the truth is still the truth. This tactic is socialism.]

Originally, under the tab “America Serves” read, “President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in under served schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps.

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year,” the site announced.

The language of requiring students to serve and the creation of a “Classroom Corps” sparked a surge of criticism from bloggers for bringing back memories of the much-publicized video of marching Obama youth and Obama’s “civilian national security force,” which the candidate said in July would be just as powerful and well-funded as the U.S. military.

Gateway Pundit called Obama’s plan the “creation of his Marxist youth corps,” and DBKP commented, “‘Choosing’ to serve should be approved by parents – not required by the government. No amount of good intentions can sugar-coat words like ‘mandatory,’ ‘compulsory’ or ‘required.'”

Following the furor raised by bloggers, however, the website’s wording was changed.

The word “require” was stricken from the website yesterday, replaced with the phrase “setting a goal” and now also listing tax credits toward college tuition.

The original wording is below:

America Serves
“When you choose to serve — whether it’s your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood — you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That’s why it’s called the American dream.”
-Barack Hussein Obama-
The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

The current website’s content now reads:

America Serves
“When you choose to serve — whether it’s your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood — you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That’s why it’s called the American dream.”
Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

The new wording is consistent with Obama’s campaign website, which also described the college tuition tax credit and detailed “enabling” Americans to serve, rather than “requiring” them to serve.

Elsewhere on the site, however, it still describes the plan under the heading, “Require 100 hours of service in college.”

J.D. Tuccille of the Civil Liberties Examiner also points out, “Most public schools depend on federal dollars. As Obama elaborated in a speech last December, ‘At the middle and high school level, we’ll make federal assistance conditional on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities’

Conservative Hippie>>>[This means teachers will be finding ways of forcing your children to do this in order to get the governement goodies.]

“So, it won’t be the nasty federal government forcing your kids to donate their time to government-approved service, it’ll be the local schools – but that requirement will be among the strings attached to federal money,” Tuccille writes.

Obama’s selection of an advocate for mandatory civil service, Rahm Emanuel, as his chief of staff has further worried bloggers that Obama’s plans may be more “requirement” than “encouragement.”

In his book, “The Plan: Big Ideas for America,” Emanuel writes: “It’s time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, all Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service.”

Conservtive Hippie>>>[Do not let this fool you. It is nothing but indoctrination as your child is off in some socialist boot camp.]

Tuccille comments, “Emanuel and co-author Bruce Reed insist ‘this is not a draft,’ but go on to write of young men and women, ‘the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service.’ They also warn, ‘Some Republicans will squeal about individual freedom,’ ruling out any likelihood that they would let people opt out of universal citizen service.”

Conservative Hippie>>>[It will be more than Republicans who squeal. Have they forgtotten who their constiguents are–the whiners of this nation who think that everybody has owed them? Everybody who loves freedom better rise up and say “NO!”

Obama has also yet to clarify what he meant during his July “Call to Service” speech in Colorado Springs, in which he insisted the U.S. “cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set” and needs a “civilian national security force.”

Obama spokesmen have declined to return WND calls requesting an explanation of what this security force would be or whether this force would be “required” or “encouraged.”

Conservative Hippie>>>[I think we all can agree it will be “required” and forced.]

Joseph Farah, founder and editor of WND, used his daily column first to raise the issue and then to elevate it with a call to all reporters to start asking questions about it.

“If we’re going to create some kind of national police force as big, powerful and well-funded as our combined U.S. military forces, isn’t this rather a big deal?” Farah wrote. “I thought Democrats generally believed the U.S. spent too much on the military. How is it possible their candidate is seeking to create some kind of massive but secret national police force that will be even bigger than the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force put together?

“Is Obama serious about creating some kind of domestic security force bigger and more expensive than that? If not, why did he say it? What did he mean?” Farah wrote.

His call generated intense Internet discussions.

The Blue Collar Muse blog commented, “The questions are legion and the implications of such an organization are staggering! What would it do? According to the title, it’s a civilian force so how would it go about discharging ‘national security’ issues? What are the Constitutional implications for such a group? How is this to be paid. … The statement was made in the context of youth service. Is this an organization for just the youth or are adults going to participate? How does one get away from the specter of other such ‘youth’ organizations from Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union when talking about it?”

Michael Kinsley also commented generally on plans for enlisting America’s youth in voluntary versus required volunteerism on Time’s website: “Problem number one with grand schemes for universal voluntary public service is that they can’t be both universal and voluntary. If everybody has to do it, then it’s not voluntary, is it? And if it’s truly up to the individual, then it won’t be universal.”

Conservative Hippie>>>[I have so much to say on this that I will have to put it in a Part 2]

Unconscionable: McCain Staffers Attempting to Destroy Sarah Palin

Transcript of Rush Limbaugh Program:

Ladies and gentlemen, it is worse than I thought.  It is worse than I thought inside the Republican Party.  What the Republican Party, led by disgruntled and failed McCain staffers are trying to do to Sarah Palin, is unconscionable and is unacceptable.

You remember during the campaign, Bill Cunningham in Cincinnati went out at a rally for McCain, introduced McCain, well, he didn’t introduce him but he got the crowd riled up, he did a warmup for the later appearance by McCain and referred to Obama with his full name, Barack Hussein Obama.  McCain went into a tizzy and denounced Cunningham and he denounced all kinds of other people who were supporting McCain and trying to rally supporters for McCain.  Any time they said anything about Obama that McCain didn’t like, something as innocuous as mentioning his middle name, McCain denounced them, distanced himself.  You wonder why the Republican Party lost in North Carolina.  Remember the great ads the North Carolina Republican Party ran and McCain denounced them, demanded they pull the ads down?

Now, where is Senator McCain today when members of his own staff are trying to destroy Sarah Palin?  I haven’t heard a word.  In fact, all I’ve heard about Senator McCain is this from the Associated Press-Obama:  “During the campaign, McCain staunchly opposed setting a deadline even as the Iraqi government began working with the Bush administration to do so.  But in conceding the presidency to Obama, McCain pledged ‘to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.’  Aides said they believed McCain would work well with Obama as president because much of his best work in the Senate had been done with Democrats, including a landmark campaign finance law he crafted with Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold,” and the unsuccessful effort with Ted Kennedy to pass comprehensive immigration reform.  “Democrats, who padded their majorities in the House and Senate, have a suggestion: McCain can mediate solutions to partisan standoffs on key legislation.” Chuck-U Schumer, New York Democrat:  “There’s a need for the old John McCain, a leader who worked in a bipartisan way.”

So the Democrats, they’re out there, they want McCain to come back and be some kind of a liaison from the Obama White House to the Senate.  The old John McCain’s back, the guy who worked with the Democrats.  Where is he denouncing his own staff dumping all over Sarah Palin?  Let me tell you why they’re dumping all over Sarah Palin.  They are dumping all over Sarah Palin because she is conservative.  This is why I say it is worse than I thought.  I knew during the campaign, I knew during the primaries that we had a bunch of different coalitions now making up the Republican Party and that all those other coalitions were doing everything they could to dismantle and dismember conservatism and to render it inoperative in the Republican Party.  We all knew this.  One of the purposes of the country club blue-blood Republicans was to find a candidate, go out and reach to the other side, bring in Democrats, bring in independents and so forth, and that would be the magic formula to go out and win.  And then support comprehensive immigration reform, because big business wants it for cheap labor and that’s going to get the Hispanic vote.  We see the results.  They were all wrong, the strategies were all wrong, they were a dismal failure.

So now Sarah Palin, who was the one person in this campaign that brought the Republican base back into the fold, that fired them up, that inspired them, that excited them, we all saw the turnout where she went, we all saw her speeches.  Their focusing here on one Katie Couric interview, but some of the things that they are saying about her are just unconscionable and unacceptable, and they have been leaking this stuff from inside the McCain campaign.  We need to know who these people are for future reference down the line.  Now, Carl Cameron did a report on Fox last night, he was on the O’Reilly factor and he’s now been everywhere on Fox because people have been leaking to him, but it’s not just Fox and Carl Cameron.  Newsweek has a Special Project, they call it, on Sarah Palin, the purpose of which is to destroy Sarah Palin and, of course, establish The Anointed One

It’s worse than I thought. There are country club blue-blood moderate Republicans who want nothing to do with a firebrand conservative in the Republican Party who can fire up people, who can inspire people, who can motivate them.

This Newsweek Special Project is amazing. “Newsweek has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported.” Now, why? Why do this? Who benefits from this? Who gains from this kind of story running right now? She’s back in Alaska. The campaign’s over. The election’s over and we got more stories on her wardrobe and how she’s a diva? Who in the world makes out okay if this happens? And, see, when you ask the question of who benefits, it’s amazing how the seas do part and enlightenment shoves your way and you can see exactly what’s going on. Listen to this. “While publicly supporting Palin –” right. Publicly supporting her? We had leaks trying to cream her during the campaign. “– McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family — clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards.

“The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent ‘tens of thousands’ more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as ‘Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,’ and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books. A Palin aide said: ‘Governor Palin was not directing staffers to put anything on their personal credit cards, and anything that staffers put on their credit cards has been reimbursed, like an expense. Nasty and false accusations following a defeat say more about the person who made them than they do about Governor Palin.'”

So what’s going on here is two things: an effort to blame her for the loss, all this talk about she dragged the ticket down, which is an absolute laugher, it is an absolute joke and an effort to damage her for the future. It’s unconscionable what is happening and what they’re doing to Sarah Palin in our own party. Let me ask you this, folks. Will smearing a classy and upbeat conservative star make her more or less popular with the Republican base? If she decides to remain a public figure, she will be a very popular national figure, and I don’t think she’s gonna be intimidated by anybody regarding her decision whatever she wants to do, but that is the precise reason that they’re going after her on our side. McCain moderates don’t care for conservatives. We know this. McCain moderates are not welcome going forward in our party, as far as I’m concerned, especially now that Obama wants McCain to be a liaison between his administration and the Senate, because the good McCain’s back, the old good John McCain, the guy that votes with Democrats, and Chuck-U Schumer, I mean that’s the kind of resume we want, right? We want a resume, we want a guy who claims that the real McCain, Chuck Schumer defining for us who the real McCain is, that’s the guy we want back, right?

It just makes me mad, folks, put plain and simple, it infuriates me. It’s beyond low. Look at what she did. She’s minding her own business up there in Alaska; she didn’t campaign for the veep job. So they call her up, ’cause they need a Hail Mary, they’re admitting when they say they needed a Hail Mary that their own candidate was going nowhere. They need a Hail Mary, so what did she do? She dragged herself and her entire family all over the fruited plain without missing a beat. She was unfailingly cheerful. She was a spot of sunshine in an abysmal election year. And now they’re upset at her because of all the rumors about going rogue and so forth. Wait ’til you hear, if you haven’t heard this yet we’re going to play after the break what Carl Cameron reported he was told on O’Reilly’s Fox show last night by McCain staffers.

Here’s the first of a couple sound bites with Carl Cameron.  This is last night on the O’Reilly Factor:

CAMERON:  Early on, they began to discover that there were these gaps in her knowledge.  I just want to rattle off a couple of the things that insiders say she just simply didn’t know.  There were real problems with basic civics, government structures; municipal state and federal government responsibilities.  She didn’t know the nations involved in the North American Free Trade Agreement, we’re told.  She didn’t understand, McCain aides told me today, that Africa was a continent and not a country, and actually asked them — they argue, they say — if South Africa wasn’t just part of the country as opposed to a country in the continent.  They go on to say that she didn’t understand the idea of American exceptionalism, a classic principle of Wilsonian doctrine that says that the United States is exceptional in the world and has therefore a very special role in leading the globe.

RUSH:  I don’t believe any of this, and what kills it for me is that she “didn’t understand…American exceptionalism.” She’s the only one in the McCain campaign who did understand American exceptionalism, and had to drag the rest of the campaign kicking and screaming into the concept.  We never heard about American exceptionalism from our own party ’til Sarah Palin showed up.  This South African… Not knowing the countries in Africa?  Not knowing how the federal government works? She’s governor of Alaska, for crying out loud!  This is just a smear job.  She is being smeared worse than anybody in the McCain campaign went after Obama or any of his questionable allies.

CAMERON:  There are stories that say she would look at her press clippings in the morning and throw what has been described to me as “tantrums.”  One of the more infamous stories that’s now come out is there was a time when McCain staffers went to collect her at her hotel room and she had just stepped out of the shower and essentially met them wrapped in a bathrobe.  They were taken aback by that.  They have suggested that she’s a bit of a shopoholic and that on more than one occasion she would go out and buy clothes that to many seemed unnecessary because the campaign had already provided her with a very large wardrobe, uh, a wardrobe that famously rang up a bill of $150,000, mostly because they bought extra sizes to make sure everything fit.

RUSH: (laughing) So this is Carl Cameron last night on Fox detailing what had been told to him.  Carl Cameron, by the way, is the voice of the McCain insiders, I should point out.  So they’re dumping on Sarah Palin, and you have to ask yourself: “Why?  Who benefits from this happening to Sarah Palin?”

You might ask, “Why is Carl Cameron spewing all this stuff?” Okay, so somebody inside the McCain campaign reports it to him, but why does he spew all this stuff out there? I guess to have a scoop. I don’t know. But it’s quite telling, it is quite instructive here, ladies and gentlemen, as if we conservatives aren’t angry enough with Obama and McCain, the fact is we’re going to have to defeat ’em both now, all over again. So I’m just going to warn you, there’s going to be a McCain-somebody, comprehensive immigration bill, which will result in the migration of more nonpaying Democrat voters. This I cannot believe and I’m going to deal with this as the program unfolds before your very eyes and ears today. The wizards of smart on our side are all out there talking about how Obama’s going to govern from the center. (laughing) They have learned nothing! I don’t even think that this is wishful thinking, or hopefulness.

I think it’s pure ignorance that Obama’s going to govern from the center.

Two more sound bites here on Sarah Palin and we’ll move on.  This is from DNCTV this morning, Peter Alexander on Palin’s shopping spree.

ALEXANDER:  An angry McCain aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus coast to coast.”  In fact, they may have spent as much as 20 to $40,000 for clothes on Todd, 20 to $35,000 on clothes for the children, as one staffer had joked, there were also some Gucci shoes being worn by those kids.

RUSH:  Now, it’s beyond the pale because this is our own party leaking to the Drive-By Media to destroy Sarah Palin.  This is a clear indication, my friends, of what is happening.  They’re attacking Sarah Palin and they’re the ones that picked her, or McCain did.  They’re destroying Sarah Palin, and you have to ask why, what possible benefit is it right now?  And the only benefit I can see is to make sure she doesn’t rise again as a force for conservatism in the Republican Party.  There’s no other reason to do this.  You can chalk it up to, “Well, maybe they just personally don’t like her,” that’s fine and dandy, but this is suicidal.  And I’ll tell you something else, the people that are doing this, it must really matter, because they are running a huge risk of never getting hired again.  Somebody runs for office, presidential candidate on the Republican side, why would you hire any of these people?  A, they’re the architects of a huge defeat, and B, they’re out now trying to destroy their own vice presidential nominee.  I have an idea of one of the names but I’m not going to mention because I can’t prove it, so I don’t know.  But it’s obviously more than one person and it’s obviously somebody, somebody’s doing this.  Whoever it is has just shown stripes.  This is mind-boggling.  It’s worse than I thought.  Here’s Palin last night, herself, after she had landed back in Alaska.  An unidentified reporter asked her about all these allegations.

PALIN:  That’s kind of a small, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that that I perhaps didn’t know an answer to a question.  So until I know who — who is talking about it, I won’t have a comment on false allegations.

RUSH:  So, that’s Sarah Palin responding to it trying to take the high road and stay above it.  She does raise an interesting point.  Why did this person just go out and blab everything to Carl Cameron at Fox?  Why not just go on camera with Carl Cameron?  Why not just put this out there in your own voice and with your own face on camera?  Go ahead and do it on CNN, go do it on ABC.  Why do this on Fox?  Folks, this is quite telling the way this is all shaking out.  These operatives who are leaking, these are the people who work for moderate Republicans.  They will work for anyone who will pay them.  They are leaking to cover their own butts because they are failures.  They are the architects of the failure of this campaign.  Now, there’s something that happened. I didn’t talk about it because I was trying to stay upbeat and positive.  The last thing I wanted to do was participate here in dispiriting you.  But there was a piece at The about two weeks before the election and it was telling, especially now looking at it in hindsight.  It was amazing.  It was a story filled with anonymous leaks, quotes from anonymous people on how horrible the McCain campaign was, how rotten the candidate himself was.

All of these campaign aides were trying to cover their own rear ends.  They were going out there and blaming other campaign aides for things that went wrong, the choice of Palin, why McCain looked like Yosemite Sam prancing around when the dynamite failed to go off at half the debates.  It was a circular firing squad, and at the time, the way it was interpreted was, okay, the campaign knows they’re going to lose, and these staffers want to work on another campaign, so they’re out there covering their bases, firing anonymous shots at all the other campaign staffers, blaming them and blaming him and blaming her and all that.  And The Politico story put out, okay, this is the first sign this thing is over.  McCain people know they’re going to lose, so the campaign staff now trying to protect themselves.  That’s what this Palin thing is, in part.  This Palin thing, these leakers are the kind of people who work for moderate Republicans.  They’ll work for anybody who will pay them, and they’re leaking to cover their own butts now because they are failures.  That is precisely what is happening here

By the way, folks, notice one thing here.  When these moderate Republicans, when these McCain staffers go after Sarah Palin, they’re not going after her ideas, are they?  They’re not trashing her ideas.  No, no, no, no, no.  They’re not trashing her support for low marginal tax rates, are they?  They’re not trashing her ideas on immigration.  They’re not trashing her ideas on energy, which are better than McCain’s.  They can’t go after her views because going after her views would go after the Republican base, and they still want to pretend that they’re interested in the Republican base. So they’re trashing her personally.  They’re trashing her as a person, ’cause that’s all they have left.  Not even Bob Shrum was this low!  Bob Shrum is a perennial loser on the Democrat side managing Democrat presidential campaigns, and not even he went after the people that worked with him in this way.

Now, you might also say, “Hey, if they’d have won, it would have been all different.”  I don’t think so.  I do not think so.  This is personal.  I think if they had won, there would still be an effort against Palin right now to get her off the ticket and get somebody else in there as vice president, if they had won. I’ll tell you something else we need to do.  As long as we’re on the subject here, we didn’t even pick our nomineeCan we remember this?  We did not pick the nominee.  The Democrats and the media picked our nominee.  What you people in the McCain campaign and everywhere else need a to start doing in the Republican Party, is close our primaries in states that you have ’em open where Democrats and independents can cross over and select our nominee.

The Democrats hated Operation Chaos.  Remember that?  They said, “This is unconstitutional!  Horrible.” It was nothing!  This was one small attempt to duplicate what they’ve been doing for years, selecting our nominee.  So I’ll make a deal: Democrats pick the Democrat nominee; Republicans pick the Republican nominee.  We don’t need Democrats and the media picking both nomineesAnd that is what has happened here.  Now look. I’ve run out of time here to play these sound bites.  That’s what I’m in.  There’s a lot to do on this program.  It’s unfolding very fast, these sound bites about who is Obama.  But these are juicy.  We’ll save ’em for the monologue section the top of the next hour.  Here’s Bart in Manahawkin, New Jersey.  It’s great to have you, sir, on the Rush Limbaugh program.

CALLER:  Hey, Rush.  How you doing?

RUSH:  Yes, sir.  Fine.

CALLER:  Good, good.  I’ve been listening to you since you had Gorbasms and caller abortions, but I loved it.  Listen, I wanted to bring up a point.  The moderates who are running McCain’s campaign, by saying that Sarah Palin wasn’t a great pick and she has all these problems and so forth, aren’t they basically saying that John McCain made a terrible choice there for vice president; there’s something wrong with his pick?

RUSH:  Well, yeah, you could… (laughing) Haven’t we already established the problem there, long before the pick?  I don’t want to pile on Senator McCain here.  We don’t know that Senator McCain is the one doing the dumping.  All we know is he’s not renouncing his own people who are dumping on her.  You know, why didn’t whoever did this pick some other network? Why did they dump it on Fox? Why’s Fox allowing itself to be used like this?

CALLER:  Oh, sure.  Fox is the one. Fox obviously goes to more conservatives and Republicans than they do to on the other side.  That’s why they picked him.

RUSH:  Look, of course throw in McCain’s judgment on this, but he’s out there. He did defend her.  He defended her quite a bit whenever she came under attack during the campaign.  He hasn’t spoken up since

Conservative Hippie>>>[I have believed for months that we the people, have no clue who is in bed with who concerning the media. That goes for “conservative” media also. I’m beginning to wonder just who can we trust in the media. Rush is on to something.  Thank God for him!]
